Things you must know about Pride März

LinkedIn

This Sonntag 5 März, 50,000 people in their brightest colours will march across the iconic landmark (north to south), in a powerful international statement – we are here, we are united and we will be relentless in our demand for equality not only in Australia, but for all LGBTQIA+ people around the world.

Here are the answers to the most common Pride März questions:

Do I need a ticket?

You need to have been selected in the Pride März ballot, successfully registered online, and received your wristband in the post (Australian residents) or elected to pick up your wristband in Sydney (International residents).

Various ballots were drawn since Januar, and the final successful waitlist registrants were notified on Montag 27 Februar 2023. All tickets are fully allocated.

Travel on public transport is included with your wristband.

You must wear your wristband to participate in Pride März.

I was selected in the ballot but forgot to register?

We’re sorry but registrations are now closed and you will not be able to take part in Pride März.

Can I buy a wristband?

Registering for the Pride März ballot was free, so be wary of scams trying to sell Pride März “tickets” or wristbands.

We’re sorry but if you have not successfully registered for Pride März and don’t have a wristband, there is no way to join the event at this stage.

Where is the wristband pickup point?

Please contact [email protected] to confirm the date and location you selected to collect your wristband.

Wristbands collection dates are scheduled at the below locations:

  • Dienstag 28 Februar @ Customs House
  • Mittwoch 1 März @ Customs House until 6:00pm
  • Freitag 3 März @ Taylor Square Sydney WorldPride Info Booth, 10:00am-4:00pm
  • Samstag 4 März @ Taylor Square Sydney WorldPride Info Booth, 10:00am-4:00pm

I’ve lost my wrist band!

Urgently contact [email protected].

We can only assist if your email is received by Samstag 4 März at Midday.

Why only 50,000 people?

The Sydney Harbour Bridge needs to re-open by 11.30AM, so Pride März is limited to 50,000 people to ensure everyone can cross in time, not feel rushed, and to avoid crowd crush.

Do I have to arrive at my allocated march time?

Yes please! Again, we need to avoid any crowd crush situation so please arrive 30mins before the start time you selected during registration. Be sure to wear your brightest colours as we march for equality for all LGBTQIA+ people around the world.

And remember, your wristband gets your FREE public transport to and from Pride März.

What happens after Pride März?

There will be some food, water stations and bathroom facilities for marchers at The Domain site, to utilise before heading home or to your next location.

The Domain site will temporarily close for entries from 11am as we get ready for our official closing concert Rainbow Republic, presented by Optus which will happen on the same day from 3pm. To learn more about Rainbow Republic, click here.

Pride Villages includes Oxford Street Party on both 4 and 5 März, which is a free, all-ages event. Click here for more information.
