Diageo

Diageo is a global leader in beverage alcohol with an outstanding collection of brands including Johnnie Walker, Casamigos, Smirnoff, Baileys and Don Julio.

Driven by its purpose to celebrate life, every day, everywhere, Diageo knows that an inclusive and diverse workplace culture makes for better business and a better world. It’s committed to helping shape a more tolerant and inclusive society, where everyone feels valued, seen and represented.

Championing inclusion and diversity is central to the company’s Society 2030: Spirit of Progress targets, their ambitious 10-year action plan to help create a more inclusive and sustainable world. Through its brands, Diageo will support progressive voices, tackle harmful stereotypes, and reflect the diversity of our communities in the broadest sense possible whether its sexuality, gender, ethnicity, age, ability, social status, education, ways of thinking, experience and more.

Other ‘must dos’ in the plan include programs to champion gender and ethnic diversity, provide education and training within industry, utilise media spend/reach to support progressive voices and underrepresented groups.

Inside Diageo is an employee-led Inclusion and Diversity group that supports, celebrates and raises awareness for key programs and initiatives to uplift LGBTQIA+ communities in Australia – including support for Mardi Gras, Wear It Purple Day and now Sydney WorldPride. In 2021’s Mardi Gras event the company launched Gender Expression Guidelines within its workplace. Internationally, Diageo has committed to providing skills and training to over 1.7m people to help create an inclusive and thriving hospitality sector.
