dr Zahra Stardust (she/her)

Dr Zahra Stardust is a digital media scholar working at the intersections of sexuality, technology and law. She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology and an Affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard, where she is researching sexual content moderation, public interest sex tech and digital sexual health.
Her first book, Indie Porn: Revolutionary Promises, Regulatory Fantasies, Resistance Politics will be published by Duke University Press in 2023. Over the last 15 years Zahra has worked with community organisations, NGOs and UN bodies on sex worker rights and LGBTQ health.
Her research has been published in books such as Queer Sex Work, New Feminist Studies and Orienting Feminism, and journals such as the CUNY Law Review, Social Media and Society, Crime Media Culture, Sexual Health, Crime Justice and Social Democracy, World Journal of AIDS, Porn Studies, and Current Issues in Criminal Justice.
