Sydney WorldPride 2023 Road Closures

Sydney WorldPride is a once in a lifetime festival coming to Sydney from 17 Febrero – 5 Marzo 2023, encompassing the much-loved annual events of Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras, plus many never seen before events.

Special event clearways will be in effect on roads around the Domain from 6pm to 12.30am on College St, Hospital Rd, Hunter St, Macquarie St, Prince Albert Rd, Shakespeare Pl, St James Rd and St Mary’s Rd. Clearways will also be in effect on the eastern side of Hospital Rd from 12pm midday to 12.30am.

Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types, and also apply to local residents and TfNSW Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies.

The following roads will be closed from 12pm to 11.30pm on Viernes 24 Febrero and from 2am Domingo 26 Febrero through until 4.30am Lunes 6 Marzo.

  • Crown St between Campbell St and Oxford St 
  • Riley St between Goulburn St and Oxford St 
  • Riley St between Campbell St and Goulburn St northbound
  • Goulburn St between Riley St and Crown St 
  • Sections of Arnold Ln, Arnold Pl, Little Oxford St, Lower Campbell St, Providence Place, Taggarts Ln and Waine St

Special event clearway parking restrictions will be in effect from 9am Viernes 24 Febrero through until 4.30am Lunes 6 Marzo on sections of Albion St, Campbell St, Crown St, Goulburn St and Riley St.

Motorists will be diverted via Kings Cross or Surry Hills around Oxford St during the closure. Motorists should allow plenty of extra travel time as delays are expected on detour routes.

Road closures from 12.01am Sábado 4 Marzo until 4.30am Lunes 6 Marzo

  • Oxford St between College St and Flinders St
  • Flinders St northbound lanes from Moore Park Rd to Oxford St
  • Local side streets off Oxford and Flinders streets will also be closed.

Special event clearway parking restrictions will be in effect from 12.01am Sábado 4 Marzo until 4.30am Lunes 6 Marzo on Oxford St, Flinders St, Albion St, Crown St, Liverpool St, South Dowling St, Wentworth Ave and surrounding local roads. Closures for Aldeas Pride on Riley St, Crown St and surrounding local roads will already be in place from 2am Sun 26 Feb. Clearways will also already be in effect on these streets until 4.30am Mon 6 Marzo.

  • From 2pm to 1am: sections of College St, Wentworth Ave and surrounding local streets.
  • From 3pm to 3am: sections of Bourke St, Campbell St and surrounding local streets.
  • From 4pm to 4am: Flinders St between Oxford St and Moore Park Rd, and southbound Anzac Pde from Moore Park Rd to Lang Rd, including the Eastern Distributor Randwick Anzac Pde off-ramp (Bondi exit remains open). Anzac Pde closes northbound from 5pm.
  • From 4.30pm to 1am: Liverpool St between Elizabeth St and College St, and local streets in Surry Hills between Elizabeth St and Riley St
  • From 4.30pm to 2am: Oxford St between College St and Darlinghurst Rd, sections of Crown St, sections of South Dowling between Oxford St and Fitzroy St, and local streets off Oxford St.
  • From 6.30pm to 2am: sections of Moore Park Rd and Driver Ave (until 10am Domingo).
  • From 9pm to 1am: sections of Elizabeth St, Castlereagh St and Pitt St between Market and Goulburn streets will close to allow crowds to safely leave the CBD.

Motorists are urged to avoid unnecessary travel in the CBD and Moore Park and to expect delays as traffic will be heavy on detour routes.

Motorists travelling between the city and eastern suburbs will be diverted via Cleveland St in the south or via William St and Darlinghurst Rd in the north. 

Pedestrian access across the parade route will be available at Riley St, Crown St and Albion St from 4.30pm to 7pm, after such time there is no pedestrian crossing of Oxford or Flinders Streets available until roads reopen.

Special event clearways will be in effect between 6am Sábado and 3am Domingo on various roads along and surrounding the parade route in the Sydney CBD, Darlinghurst, Surry Hills and Moore Park.

Special Event Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types, and apply even to local residents and businesses with parking permits or TfNSW Mobility Scheme permit holders.   1. From 2am to 12.30pm: sections of Pacific Hwy at North Sydney near Harbour Bridge off-ramp
  2. From 4am to 11:30am: Sydney Harbour Bridge will be closed in both directions including the Cahill Expressway Circular Overpass. In North Sydney, sections of Walker St, Blue St, Arthur St, Hill St and Pacific Hwy will close. The Harbour Bridge walkway and cycleway will remain open. The Cahill Exp Walkway will be closed from 6am to 11am.
  3. There will be no access between the Cahill Expressway and Macquarie St until after 12pm. Motorists travelling eastbound on the Cahill Expressway Circular Quay Overpass will be diverted via the Domain Tunnel.
  4. From 4am to 12pm: roads in the Sydney CBD including sections of Macquarie St, Bridge St, Hunter St, College St, St James Rd, Hospital Rd, Art Galley Rd and Mrs Macquaries Rd.

Special event clearways will be in effect on various key roads in the city and North Sydney between 1am and 12pm.

  • In North Sydney from 1am to 11.30am: on sections of Arthur St, Berry St, Blue St, Broughton St, Falcon St, Lavender St, Middlemiss St, Miller St, Mount St Olympic Drive, Pacific Hwy and Walker St. Some clearways will be in effect from 12.30am on Pacific Hwy.
  • In Sydney CBD from 1am to 12pm: on sections of Bent St, Bridge St, Castlereagh St, College St, Conservatorium Rd, Hunter St, Macquarie St, Park St, Prince Albert Rd, Shakespeare Place, St James Rd and St Mary’s Rd.
