Koorie Wirguls (Daughter/Sisters from Everywhere)

Koorie Wirguls with Jannawai Dance Clan are a NSW-based First Nations women identified LGBTQIA+ community dance group.

Jannawi Dance Clan is a community-based Indigenous dance company encompassing modern, urban and traditional dance styles. The name Jannawi means ‘with you, with me’ in the Dhurag language of Sydney.

A unique project that engages our communities in gathering and showing the world our resilience and pride both in our identity as First Nations identified women and as members of the LGBTQIA+ communities. We dance in celebration of our history, heritage, gender, sexuality, and cultural affiliations.

This project has been supported by The Wales Family Foundation

Pop-up performances will be happening throughout the festival at selected Official Sydney WorldPride events including Marri Madung Butbut: First Nations Gathering Space.
