Linger, Dash, Talk is an exhibition that platforms queer and First Nations identified artists, and seeks to hone in on tensions surrounding visibility, erasure and public-scrutiny, and the ways in which queer and Indigenous artists use encoded, private or anecdotal ‘languages’.

Through an exploration of language, gossip and dialogue, the artists in Linger, Dash, Talk variously use text to leverage community-building against (or adjacent to) dominant modes of kinship and relating.

Featuring newly commissioned works by poet and textile artist Kirli Saunders; painter Troy-Anthony Baylis; performance and film artists Stelly G, Kiki Oner & Garden Reflexxx, as well as existing work by Benjy Russell and Jenna & Mackenzie Lee; with a host of other artists to be announced, the exhibition will draw on text-based practices, slang, gossip and other informal and encoded modes
of communication.
