Sydney 2023 IGLFA Football World Championships XXIV
Mon Feb 20 - Thu Feb 23
Mon Feb 20 - Thu Feb 23
Kick off your Sydney WorldPride experience and join over one thousand international and domestic players for this four day, eleven-a-side Football (Soccer) World Championships.
Register as a team or individual (and then be placed in a team). The tournament includes a Men’s and Non-Binary competition and Women’s and Non-Binary competition and you are encouraged to play in the comp you feel most comfortable in. Plus the mix of skill levels and ages with Divisions 1, 2 and Masters (i.e. 40+ years).
The tournament provides an opportunity to meet and play with like-minded LGBTQIA+ and ally soccer players from around the world in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Tempe Recreation Reserve contains wheelchair-accessible paths and roads throughout the site. The synthetic field at Tempe is accessible via paths. Other fields are accessible only via grass surfaces.
Tempe Recreation Reserve and Mackey Park fields are both well connected via public transport. The fields are approximately a 20 minutes train ride from the Sydney CBD with Tempe Station and Wolli Creek being a short walk from the fields. Wolli Creek is also an accessible train station. The fields can also be accessed via bus (422 Route) and rideshare/taxi. We encourage participants to use public transport options though some car parking is available at the Reserve. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the sidelines of the fields, along with marquees for shade, seating and chill out spaces. All gender bathrooms will be available on site and some change room facilities.
