Morgan Carpenter (he/him)

Morgan Carpenter is an intersex man, a bioethicist and executive director of Intersex Human Rights Australia. He created the intersex flag in 2013, now used all around the world. He has been a contractor or consultant to the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, World Health Organization, Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, and ACT government, and an advisory group or reference group member for the Australian Human Rights Commission, Australian Bureau of Statistics, and NSW Health.
He participated in the first expert meeting held by the UN on ending human rights violations against intersex persons in 2015. During 2017, Morgan was a signatory and member of a drafting committee for the Yogyakarta Principles plus 10 on the application of international human rights law in relation to sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics.
