Gabriele Visentin is the EU Ambassador to Australia and was previously the first-ever EU Special Envoy for the Indo-Pacific. He has served as the Head of the Parliamentary Affairs Division in the European External Action Service (EEAS), and representative of the European Commission to the EU Committee for crisis management, in Brussels. He was also Head of Cabinet to the last President of the European Community for Steel and Coal (ECSC), the first European institution to be created. He is specialised in International and Community Law.
