Jamie Hamilton-Smith (He/Him)

Headshot of Jamie Hamilton Smith

Jamie proudly identifies as “gay man with a disability”. Living with a physical and intellectual disability, Jamie is an active member of Sydney’s queer community. Jamie speaks passionately about being “gay with a disability”, whilst also living in shared disability accommodation. Jamie is very sensitive to the issue of human rights among the LGBTQI+ disability community and has spent much of his time advocating in political circles for inclusion and acceptance. Always in the front row of a Mardi Gras float, Jamie seeks to tackle the social taboo surrounding LGBTQIA+ people with an intellectual disability, and societies views on their capabilities and autonomy.
