Lenny Emson is a Ukrainian-born LGBTQI human rights activist that identifies as a bigender individual. S_he (him/his) has over 20 years of experience in the field of advocacy for LGBTQI freedoms.

Lenny has been involved in the LGBTQI movement globally as an activist, founder, and employee of several LGBTQI nonprofits. In 2021, Emson became the Executive Director of KyivPride, the largest pride non-profit in Ukraine working for the rights and freedoms of LGBTQI people. Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, Emson pivoted KyivPride into playing a critical role in advocating for the protection of LGBTQI people in times of war, and in the humanitarian response directed to the LGBTQI community.

Today, KyivPride runs an LGBTQI shelter and community center, providing legal and psychological help, combating hate speech toward LGBTQI, conducting informational campaigns, a resocialization program for LGBTQI people, and organizing pride activities in support of Ukrainian LGBTQI internationally.
