Peter is an international human rights lawyer and has been working in the field of human rights law, advocacy and policy for 24 years in Hong Kong and wider Asia, Australia, the United Kingdom, across Europe, and Commonwealth countries. A key focus of his work has been advancing the human rights of LGBTIQ people globally. 

In Hong Kong from 2012 to 2022, Peter has been Senior Legal Counsel at the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) and previously a Board member of Amnesty International Hong Kong where he has led a number of landmark LGBTIQ related projects. This includes submissions and research on introducing LGBTIQ anti-discrimination laws, gender recognition laws for transgender people that fully respect their human rights, relationship rights for same sex couples in all areas of life, and recommendations to repeal criminal laws that discriminate against gay men. He has also been involved in the concept design and spoken at ground breaking conferences on LGBTIQ related human rights in Asia organised by the United Nations, European Union and ILGA Asia. 

In 2018, Peter was awarded the Community Business LGBT Advocacy Award for his influential advocacy work on LGBTIQ human rights in Hong Kong.
