Rosanna Flamer-Caldera (she/her)

Rosanna Flamer-Caldera Is the founder and Executive Director of EQUAL GROUND (2004-to present), one of the oldest LGBTIQ advocacy organizations in Sri Lanka.
Rosanna served two terms as Co-Secretary General of the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Association (ILGA) and is the co-founder and former Chair of the Commonwealth Equality Network, a network of LGBTIQ organisations within the Commonwealth.
In 2018 Rosanna was instrumental in filing the first case of its kind at the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) committee at the United Nations challenging discriminatory laws in her country that criminalizes consenting adult same sex sexual relationships between women. In September 2021 she spearheaded the first of its kind legal case in the Sri Lanka Court of Appeals, against homophobic, discriminatory and inflammatory speeches made by police trainers in Sri Lanka.
