This lively daytime market showcases outstanding local craft and design and celebrates the sparking array of queer makers in our community. Featuring 20 stalls selected by special guest curators Nikita Majajas and Jeff McCann, the market is all about the unique and the handmade. It’s also a chance for visitors to Sydney to pick up a gorgeous treasure to mark their time here.
Alongside this Maker’s Market, Australian Design Centre is celebrating Sydney WorldPride with Unravelling Queerly, a curated group exhibition of textile and fibre art and craft with two feature solo exhibitions by craft and design practitioners.
The market is on street level on Palmer Street, adjacent to ADC. There is step-free access to the main entrance of ADC and wheelchair-accessible toilet on the lower gallery level. There is a ramp at the side entrance on Palmer Street to the upper gallery. Please ask their friendly staff for assistance.
Australian Design Centre (ADC) has two gallery spaces, and a window gallery on William Street that is viewable 24hrs. In addition, ADC’s Object Shop is open during gallery hours and offers a specially curated selection of unique, handmade and collectable craft and design by LGBTQIA+ artists and artisans to take home.
