Alex Greenwich (he/him) MP is the Independent Member for Sydney in the NSW Parliament. He was first elected in 2012, and is the only openly gay member sitting in the Legislative Assembly.  

Alex has played a major role in delivering important social reforms in Australia, including as co-chair of the successful Yes campaign that delivered marriage equality. In 2019, Alex’s Reproductive Healthcare Bill decriminalised abortion in NSW, and in 2022 he successfully passed legislation to allow Voluntary Assisted Dying in NSW.  

Alex proudly support led Sydney’s bid for WordPride and has a strong track record of supporting LGBTIQA+ campaigns across Australia and the world.

Acknowledgement of country

Sydney WorldPride will take place on the lands of the Gadigal, Cammeraygal, Bidjigal, Darug, Dharawal people who are the Traditional Custodians of the Sydney Basin.

We pay our Respects to their Elders past and present. Always was Always will be Aboriginal Land.
