Queer Art After Hours

Presented by Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Art Gallery of New South Wales

The Art Gallery of New South Wales’ annual crowd-favourite Queer Art After Hours will be celebrated in the new building for the first time, with an offering in every corner.

Be a part of the glorious LGBTQIA+ communities who will come together at this event, and experience breathtaking art and performances from a myriad of LGBTQIA+ artists.

Choose your own journey with music, performances, installations and more. Drop into the LGBTQIA+ Youth Space for under-25s, hosted by the Art Gallery’s Youth Collective. Grab a drink at one of our pop-up bars or a bite to eat at one of the dining options across the campus.

During the night, check out the art on display in our original South Building, including a self-guided Queering the collection tour, a display of new works that provides a snapshot of some of the contemporary queer art being made in Australia today, and a new work by Sweet Incites artist-in-residence Al Joel in the library and archive.

Queer Art After Hours is part of WorldPride at the Art Gallery, an extensive program of art, performance, films, talks and more in association with Sydney WorldPride 2023.
